Grettel Navas

Grettel Navas is a PhD student in the Environmental Science and Technology Institute of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). She holds a MSc in Socio-Environmental Studies from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO-Quito) and a Bachelor degree in International Relations (National University of Costa Rica). Her current research interests are Political Ecology, Environmental Conflicts, Health Social Movements and Health Environmental Justice. Before joining ENVJustice project she worked as a consultant with environmental NGOs and several social projects in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Brazil, and Guatemala. Grettel also coordinates the Latin America Political Ecology Groupwork of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). She loves mountain trekking and she is black belt in Karate-Do.
