Grettel Navas

Grettel Navas is a PhD student in the Environmental Science and Technology Institute of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). She has a MSc in Socio-Environmental Studies (FLACSO-Ecuador). In her master thesis she analyzed socio-environmental conflicts related to the residential tourism in Costa Rica. Her PhD analyzes health related environmental conflicts in Latin America and popular epidemiology as a form of mobilization of the environmental justice movement.  Grettel is also co-coordinator of the Political Ecology group from CLACSO (Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales). She has a black belt in Karate and loves mountain trekking.
